SEE International …Vision for the World
Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE) International is a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides medical, surgical and educational services by volunteer ophthalmic surgeons. The primary objective is to restore sight worldwide to individuals who are disadvantaged and visually impaired. Locally, through its Santa Barbara Vision Care Program, ophthalmologists provide eye examinations and surgical procedures to residents of Santa Barbara County who do not have medical or vision coverage and do not qualify for federal or state funded insurance.
Dr. Michael Paveloff, a SEE Board Member, recently coordinated and participated in a highly successful event at the McDougal Eye Center at Cottage Hospital. 10 underprivileged Santa Barbara County residents received cataract surgery performed by local ophthalmologists. Dr. Paveloff said,“SEE International restores vision to indigent people both locally and overseas. I’m extremely proud to be a member of SEE and to participate in today’s event.”
